The Bygland Band Records consist of one log book of all the meetings of the Bygland Band. The log book contains the constitution and bylaws of the organization, as well as a description of the officers' duties, elections, and actions. The names of the original and additional members are catalogued in the log book, as are the minutes of the meetings and accounts paid and received of the organization. Information on performances included admittance prices, dates and refreshments. The first entry in the book is March 4, 1908, and the last entry is September 15, 1918 .

The Bygland Band was an instrumental band put together on March 4, 1908, in Bygland, Minnesota. The object of the organization was to learn how to play musical instruments in an ensemble. Qualifications for membership included: "any person of good character" who was over the age of twelve years, paid the membership fee of one dollar, attended every meeting unless excused or during the "spring work, harvest and threshing" seasons, and agreed to the constitution and bylaws of the organization.
